15. Cart before the horse.

That classic figure of speech is so true so often with many people who are starting out to buy a house. Please read the first steps to buying a house to understand how one is to get started buying a house. You have to get the financing in place first. I often run into people that are out there just a shopping away when they really don't have a good handle on how much home they can afford to or want to buy. They mean no harm they just need a good agent (Pick me - Pick me) to help them understand that's all. It is really unfair to yourself because you may well be looking at homes that you really can't afford and that is going to make it hard for you to accept what really is in your option range. The other real bad side of it is this, what if you find your dream home. You really are not ready to put in a offer on it but you don't have the documents in order and it is going to take some time to do that. The home may be sold before you get all your paper work in order. That would be really sad. Solution....  do the "first steps to buying a house" on the other page of this web site, and get your self a good agent to work with (Pick me - Pick me)
