Friday 9 October 2009

The day before the games start and this was the day get all the accreditation completed. The weather was cold, windy and overcast and standing in the loooong queue was not pleasant.

I got the train down from Gosford early as I heard on the radio that it was taking anything up to 4 hours to get through accreditation.

I got to the end of the queue around 10.30am and it was around 300 metres outside the dome.

Here is the queue as we moved slowly forward.

Actually the queue was rather interesting as around me were Russians, French, Germans, South Africans, Canadians and Kiwis, to name but a few!

The queue was not getting any shorter!

At last the entry to accreditation was there. This was still 20 minutes from accreditation.

We also had a visit from our Premier, Mr. Nathan Rees. (Damn! I didn't get a photo of him.)

The Olympic Flame has been relighted for these games.

The badminton courts are all ready awaiting Day 1 of competition.
