  • This is for "Mint State" (the grade) and "70" (the numerical designation of that grade). A perfect coin! Even with 5X magnification there are no marks, hairlines or luster breaks in evidence. The luster is vibrant, the strike is razor-sharp, and the eye appeal is the ultimate.

Silver American Eagle coins are America's official investment-grade silver bullion coins & the only silver bullion coins whose weight, content & purity are guaranteed by the United States Government. Silver American Eagles are minted by the U.S. Mint & are guaranteed to contain one full ounce of silver. The United States government first introduced the Silver Eagle coins in 1986 & they have become one of the most popular ways to invest in silver bullion. Like Gold American Eagles, the design for the Silver American Eagle was borrowed from an older American coin, the "Walking Liberty" half-dollar. Renowned for their beauty, Walking Liberty Half-Dollars are widely considered to be one of the United States' most attractive silver coins. The reverse, designed by John Mercanti, depicts a heraldic eagle with shield carrying an olive branch and arrows in its talons. An inverse pyramid of thirteen stars representing the thirteen original colonies floats above its head. The words "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA ' 1 OZ. FINE SILVER ~ ONE DOLLAR '" encircle the eagle. Silver has historically been the most affordable precious metal. Since 1986, the United States has minted one-dollar silver coins called "Silver Eagles." Each contains a minimum of one troy ounce of 99.9% pure silver. From the West Point Mint in perfect Gem BU uncirculated MS-70 condition. books read in 2009
These are most of the books I read in 2009 (not pictured: All The Pretty Horses by Cormac McCarthy, Into Thin Air by Jon Krakauer, and Inventory by The A.V. Club). In total, I read 19 books. As one of my goals for 2010 I plan to read (at least) 26 books, or approximately one every two weeks. Working at a bookstore, the books just keep accumulating faster than I can read them, so I need to make a point of reading more. I don't plan on taking two weeks to finish each book, but it's a rough schedule to keep me on track. Some books that I just haven't gotten around to reading yet that I'd like to read are: -Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides -Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell -The Crossing by Cormac McCarthy -Cities of the Plain by Cormac McCarthy (I bought the Border Trilogy omnibus last year) -Moby-Dick by Herman Melville -Paradise Lost by John Milton -On The Road by Jack Kerouac and many more hopefully....
