NEWS

The district has agreed that an Explorer unit can run at Wells. Both 1st Wells Scouts and Explorers will be able to attend our monthly meetings. In addition there will be occasional district explorer events at our scout hut. These activities will  be open to all explorers in the District. To learn more and meet other members of the district Explorer team there will be a meeting a our hut at 1930 hrs Monday 27th September 2010. 1st Well Explorers will be open to all our Scouts over 13.5 years.




2010 Autumn Activities

Saturday 18th September 2010

Canoeing at Wells High School. 2pm - 4pm. Learn more skills and work towards a two star certificate. £2 Subs.

Saturday 16th October 2010
Sailing and Canoeing in Wells Harbour. We will have canoes and our new Wayfarer dinghy on the water and will have a photo shoot to publicise the donation of the Wayfarer by the late Frank Dye. Friday 12th November 2010
Night Hike/Wide game. Meet Scout Hut 1900 hrs. We will undertake a night hike/wide game and then sleep the night in the scout hut. Bring suitable outdoor clothing, change of clothing, sleeping bag/kit and wash kit. You will also need the usual kit for night time activity and some snacks/sweets to keep you going. We will give you breakfast. Finish at 1000 hrs Saturday. £2 Subs

Saturday 11th December 2010 Sorry, due to illness this event and future events have been cancelled.
Cycle Hunt. Teams will have to transport Santa to a number of locations and obtain a photo of the team with Santa and a landmark in the background. Team to visit the most locations wins. £2 Subs. You will need a pedal cycle, cycle helmet, suitable clothing and food. Bring a digital camera or phone if you have one.

Further to all this the District Explorers will be organising other activities including a camp and a visit to London. More details will be made available at the meeting on Monday 27th September.
