Gold And Silver Flatware
silver flatware
- This is what your mother would have called “silverware.” Flatware is any item used during the dinner service that has a flat (solid) handle. Dinner knife, salad fork, teaspoon, etc.
gold
- A deep lustrous yellow or yellow-brown color
- coins made of gold
- made from or covered with gold; "gold coins"; "the gold dome of the Capitol"; "the golden calf"; "gilded icons"
- amber: a deep yellow color; "an amber light illuminated the room"; "he admired the gold of her hair"
- An alloy of this
- A yellow precious metal, the chemical element of atomic number 79, valued esp. for use in jewelry and decoration, and to guarantee the value of currencies
All that glitters, is not gold.
Sterling silver flatware, inherited from my Great Aunt. Was desperate to find something in the house yesterday to photograph, to take advantage of the brilliant morning's winter light. I have seen many images of utensils here on Flickr, so I know I'm not being original in that regard (and in fact, I'm grateful for the inspiration!) I enjoyed putting my creative touch on this subject-- and they were good models--no complaining. : ) Cunard QE2 silver flatware
Stylish modern fish knife and seafood fork designed especially for QE2 (1969) by David Mellor. Mfg. by Elkington Silver. Backstamped with the Cunard block letter logo.
