A socket wrench, more commonly referred to as a ratchet, is a type of wrench, or tightening tool, that uses separate, removable sockets to fit many different sizes of fittings and fasteners, most commonly nuts and bolts.

Spanner is a free program provided by Garmin for PCs running Windows 2000 or XP. It ‘translates’ live positional data from Garmin’s proprietary interface into NMEA 0183. Garmin’s proprietary interface data is only provided via USB whereas NMEA data is provided via serial port.

New Gasket In Place

More blurry photos! I blame my camera phone and not using the flash. Before slipping the gasket into place I cleaned up the top of the block with fine wet and dry wrapped around a new cork block, I sanded just enough to remove the light rust and gasket marks. Then I poked strips of rag into each bolt hole until dry then cleaned every thread with the correct size tap, this took far longer than I thought. There's 22 deep threads to clean and access behind the injection pump is limited so this meant only a quarter turn was possible before having to reposition the tap wrench. A socket won't fit so it's as much as you can do with a very small spanner then over to the tap wrench. The 2 dowels (top left and bottom right) I removed and cleaned up with fine wet and dry then I sanded a little off each end just in case the head skim meant they were too long.
