Well, after truly loving this wheel, my spinning style has changed, and she no longer gets the time or attention she deserves. Since she's such a wonderful, smooth spinner, I'd love her to go to a home where she'll be often used and well-loved. The rimu wood has a lovely, tight, light woodgrain, and a freshly-rubbed coat of Majacraft's lavender wax. She has only seen light use, and is in nearly new condition. There are a few of the usual light marks on the treadles, as seen in the photos. And now, on to the info you're all wondering about. :o) What’s in the box (retail prices in italics): Majacraft Suzie Alpaca in beautiful condition. ($859) Five plastic Majacraft bobbins. (Three came with the wheel, plus two extra at $32.) High speed whorl ($25) Three gorgeous hand-turned wooden bobbins. ($120) These are the original style, with a wooden core, and in my opinion much more attractive than the current fiberglass core. Cotton brake band (original synthetic band included in the toolkit). Hand knit & felted spinning wheel accessory bag to hold the allen wrenches, brake bands, extra screws, etc. And, to make sure that you can put her through her paces and get started right away, I'm including: 56g Alpaca batt (rich caramel brown) 41g Baby Camel fiber (lovely creamy ivory, with a hand unlike any other fiber I’ve fondled . . . smooth, yet incredibly strong feeling) 48g Hand dyed blue/green wool top 151g Superwash wool & alpaca combed top (a heathered oak-bark brown, part prepped for spinning from the fold, the rest predrafted for you) Retail, the wheel & accessories were $1,004, and I'm not even going to make a wild guess about the value of the fiber. ;o) I'm sending this off for just $700 local pickup for the whole kit and kaboodle as shown in the photo. This price does not include shipping, as shipping varies so much depending on distance and shipper and insurance. January 27. After the desk assembly came the assembly of the filing cabinet. I passed a Sunday morning worshiping the allen wrench while catching up on back episodes of All Songs Considered. And I cursed many times. IKEA furniture seems like less of a bargain when you realize that it takes four hours of serious labor to assemble a simple filing cabinet.
