his was my first idea for fixing up the base of the thermos. Both halves are threaded, to allow later access for changing batteries and stuff. It would require quite a bit of sanding and shaping to blend that lumpy shape to match the rest of the thermos. And I'd want to level that convex dome a bit, so the thermos can be stood up-right on it's base. Unfortunately, I took these just after I found out that I managed to damage the threads on those PVC caps and I can't get them back apart now (well, non-destructively, anyway). Back to the drawing board.
