Four small coffee (expresso) cups and saucers from the Art Deco period by Wood & Sons Ltd. Embossed pattern of leaves and berries decorated with tiny blue stars and an orange stripe around the edge. The design is mirrored on the saucers which have a smooth rim. The cups are backstamped "DORIS" Wood & Sons Ltd, Burslem, England. The saucers are backstamped "DORIS", Enoch 1784 Ralph 1750. Woods Burslem, England. In spite of these dates, this china does NOT date from the 18th century. The backstamp is named "Indian Tree" which was used by Wood & Sons from 1931.
