Coffee at Pierre Mastero's cafe in New Orleans.. THAT'll get your day started! (lol) As strong as it looks - leaving stains in the heavy cup, it really wasn't a bad cup of coffee at all! And I could use some right now.. Stayed up way too late last night, and paid the price today. I tried to get a friend to cover me while I took a five-minute power nap, but as she quickly pointed out, she sucks as a lookout, since she is all of 5’-1” tall, and the walls of our cubicles are at least 5’-6”.. I suggested she stand in her chair, but she reminded me that standing in a chair that swivel, rocks, and rolls would violate all kinds of safety rules – not to mention that standing head and shoulders above the walls like a meercat would draw too much attention. We considered a cheap periscope, but decided that would also catch the eye as she swiveled it around. We humans have an instinctual warning system that goes off when we detect movement like that – especially if it seems to be tracking us. Probably all those eons avoiding being eaten by lions.. Luckily, humor is an excellent remedy for the sleepies, and by the time we agreed that I was just going to have to suck it up, I had caught my second wind anyway. Still – I can’t help giggling at the thought of her standing in her chair, hands raised in front of her, swiveling around as she checks the area for danger…

I've been playing with my cheap pocket wizard wannabe (YONGNUO CTR-301P) to see what it can do. I'm happy with the results so far. It does have it's limitations with a sync speed of 1/200. Well worth it's price though! Strobist Info: SB-600 to the left of the subject, pointed up towards a white card above the subject for bounce and diffusion.
