a slice of freshly baked of brown rice bread ... that's dessert .. © All rights reserved Recipe for Brown Rice Bread - gluten free: 3 c. brown rice flour 1 T. xanthan gum powder 1 t. salt 2 T. flaxseed meal Combine these dry ingredients in a bowl. - - - - - - - - - - 2 t. yeast (or 1 pkg dry) 1 T. sugar 1 1/2 c. warm water Put warm water in a small bowl; add the sugar and sprinkle the yeast on top. Stir and let proof .. it will bubble (if the yeast is still good) Let this sit while you do the next step. - - - - - - - - - Combine: 2 beaten eggs 2 T. olive oil (or your preference) 1 t. cider vinegar Mix these ingredients well. * Add the yeast mixture to the egg mix. - - - - - - - - - - - - Make a well in the dry ingredients. Pour all the wet ingredients in and stir well. Incorporate all the flour; mixture should become a bit sticky. If you want to knead this, put on some brown rice flour and do so for about 1 min. (I skip this part) *** Now, spoon the bread mixture into a greased loaf pan ( 8x4 ). Spray the top with oil or brush with melted butter. ** Let rise until 1 inch above the sides of the pan. (( Have made this twice; it didn't rise that high .. yeast was good, too. Oh well .. the bread was/is still good)) - - - - - - - Bake in 350 degree oven 60-70 min.. Cool on wire rack. Enjoy! Sounds like a lot of work, but it's not really; especially when you see Gluten Free bread for sale for $6.00 ! This bread is very dense, but not heavy. Great for toast; with wine as pictured.. whatever you want. Special (gluten free) ingredients can be found in supermarkerts; health food stores and even in Wal Mart!

Baby steps... Again a multiple of 10 in the number of days that have passed since the beginning of 2010. 285 days to go. The shot of the glass with swirling water made me think of some other cool ideas, including this try-out, a classic wine shot. Something like this cannot be done enough times. The other day my mum was on the phone asking me if I really needed that tripod (which I already had bought that moment), since the water-shot was cool as well. My answer to that question right now is I couldn't have done this shot without! Since I wouldn't have been able to get this angle without a tripod. By the way: I used my tripod in reverse mode (legs folded backwards), basically hanging my camera upside down. I could have done it differently if we didn't have such a humongous bar in the living room, which prevents tripods from being setup next to any white wall. Honesty requires me to say I used some photoshop to correct the light bleed on the picture. I wanted a washed out white background, and that wasn't the case when I imported it from my camera.
