The ball and socket joint seems able to be made quite tight, though I would like to either have two knobs, two wingnuts, or one end locked into the part somehow (e.g. with a counterbored hex hole for a hex screw to lock into), and a knob, or wingnut on the other side. It's a bit difficult to hold all of these pieces together while working a crescent wrench, and hex tool. At this point I noticed that the ball sockets were too deep. The rod exited perfectly, but with almost no room for tilting perpendicularly to the line between the clamp halves. I decided to face those ends of the down. The cups were actually too big, so it's possible I didn't have the ball nose end mill homed properly, or I got the code wrong somehow. I thought I noticed when it was milling the little bowls that it dug in too much on the first pass. That could indicate that I had the bit homed a bit low, which would also make the bowls too big. Anyway, whatever. Let's just face 'em down a bit :)

Zeiss Ikon Super Ikonta C 530/2 6x9 format rangefinder. To remove the Topcover you have to unscrew the rear Viewfinder Window first. The window frame has no slots so you have to buy a fancy expensive special ringspanner for that made out of soft non scratching material (epoxyboard or copper) and sometimes referred to as a Flexi Clamp. or You can use a piece of rubber cut out of an old bicycle inner tube, place that over the window, and start unscrewing with a socket wrench which mouth is just a bit wider then the window diameter.
