The event is known as Bivouac & Barracks. It is held annually at the Zephyrhills Airport at the old World War II barracks building. This building was originally the Zephyrhills Airfield Infirmary building when it was a
fighter training base during the war.There are usually several reenactment groups in attendance including local reenactors and members of the 2nd Infantry Division from Hollywood, Florida. Also, last year there was a Stearman biplane trainer as well as two T-6 Texan trainers at the airport and they were selling rides on these planes and letting the reenactors "hang out" for photographs and such.

This coming year the event is being held on Friday and Saturday, February 20th and 21st, 2009 from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM and on Sunday February 22nd from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Usually there is some kind of dinner and dancing at the local senior
center on Saturday evening with Class A dress encouraged. The local
veterans are usually in attendance en mass and they thoroughly enjoy
this event as a lot of senior citizens reside in Zephyrhills in the
winter months.

Just thought I would invite anyone that was interested to attend this
year and set up tents or displays or just come out and add to the
ambience. Would love to have you. If you have any detailed questions
about attending or setting up.
