Poison Bracelet (2008. IT) Bracelet 4.1
This piece was inspired by submarine structures. I wanted to make something kinetic with a strong but light and balanced architecture. I love container jewellery because it gives you the feeling that you can protect and keep safe something at least. The bangle part pulls the bottons against each other, and this keeps the bracelet and the container closed. The whole piece fits fairly tight on the wrist, but the fexibility of the bangle AND the freedom of the swiveling system makes it comfortable. It is made of sterling silver, weights 48.2 gramms. I used smith techniques and many cold connections in it to make it strong and harmonic. I used a technique I named hot-cold-hot connection in the swiveling half lens part: I soldered the frame on it; then I riveted it; then I soldered the rivets.

Here is a detail shot of the clasp pin partially open. I indented the two halves of the bracelet to emphasize the hinges and to make the clasp pin easier to grasp. The pin goes through all three hinge sections but there is a stopper in the top tube to keep it from coming out of the bracelet completely.
