1. I have been an adult for 1/2 of my life. seriously? 2. i never thought i'd be where i am at 36. not good. not bad. just never thought i'd be "here." 3. i've had the most amazing time over the past 3-4 years. possibly some of my best of all 36. 4. i love that i have friends that can pass an afro and ridiculous glasses around for hours and take pictures. and laugh til our bellies hurt. 5. i love my doggies. so much. 6. my oldest bestest buddy marci is also celebrating her b-day today. we celebrated together every year for a million years. but now she lives in cali and we hardly ever get to. :( but someday, we'll celebrate together again. 7. i have zits and wrinkles at 36. is that possible? 8. i love that i have friends who will ooo and ahhhh over sunlight w/ me. really. 9. pete and kelly's lil G also has my same b-day. and i finally sent her a gift this year. and we got to talk this morning and wish one another a happy bday. 10. i got cellulite cream from one of my bestest bud's as a gift this year. nice huh? really, it's nice. i'm so excited. 11. silver jewels, a GPS, an ipod dock, a black afro, a hand beaded necklace, a bag from mexico, an awesome photo album, cut flowers, planted flowers, lots of yummy bath gels and stuff, amazing photos are just some of the THINGS i got this year. 12. a million phone calls, cards, txts, facebook msgs, flickr msgs, and real life hugs are some of the non materialistic things i got this year. 13. i am so grateful to those who remembered and went out of the way to do either of these. xooxoxox. really. people are so good. 14. i can't name my favorite bday ever. i've had so many. i've only had 2 bad ones, so that's pretty good odds. 15. if you add 3 + 6 you get 9. and i love making collages of 9 things. infact, i may start a flickr group for that. but there is probably already one out there. so i might join it. 16. i participated in a tea party today w/ G and my friends. we had pixistick sugar (blue) as our sweetener. 17. i am making a commitment to take care of myself more in my 36th year. it's starting w/ trying to eat better. we'll see how that goes. 18. i loooooove it when i meet people w/ may bdays. i love to celebrate w/ them. it's weird. but i feel bonded. anyone else experience this? 19. bono from U2 shares my b-day 20. i'm so excited to find out what this year holds. 21. i am thrilled to have friends that will play hide and seek in the backyard w/ my favorite 4 year old and i. 22. sometimes i get very depressed about being in my mid/late 30's. that's the truth. people try to cheer me up, and the sad feeling usually goes away quickly, but it does happen. 23. i'm setting some goals for myself this year. 24. i'm so so "taurus" it's ridiculous. 25. i go crazy about students w/ the same b-day as mine (are you noticing a trend here?). i get them gifts every year. one of my former students is now in 7th grade and i've been giving her gifts for 8 years--since she's been in kindergarten. this year i discovered 2 more girls in my school w/ my same b-day, so the tradition continues. i love love love doing this. 26. my birthday flower is the lily of the valley and i've had an obsession w/ this flower as long as i can remember. we had a patch of them on the farm house i grew up on and for as long as i can remember, they were "my flowers". so so special. today i cut some in sheila's yard. they almost make me cry they smell and look so beautiful. 27. speaking of crying, i finally read the card rhonda gave me w/ my gift. and i'm crying. she's so so special to me and i couldn't ask for a better friend. i love you batman. 28. i have been driving for 20 years. damn that's a long time. 20 years ago today i got my driver's license. now, i drive everywhere and it's so so essantial to me doing what i do and going where i go. i remember when i got my license my mom told me that i was not a good driver yet due to lack of experience. i remember thinking she was crazy. now i look back and realize how crazy i was. 29. speaking of my mom, i am happy to say that i spent a few hours w/ her this evening. we celebrated mom's day and my bday together. afterall, she DID birth me. thanks mom (cuz i do know that you stalk my flickr). 30. 30 seems so long ago. wow. how life has changed since then.... 31. my birthstone is the emerald. i always feel guilty for not loving it. is that crazy? 32. in a weird sort of way, i kinda can't wait to be 40. 33. i did not have birthday cake today. well, that's a lie. i had leftover birthday cake from a kid's bday party at the tea party w/ G and friends. 34. i can't wait to "use" my new bday gifts. really. i am sooooo excited. 35. good bye 35. 36. hello 36. and thank you all so much for being the awesome people you are. xo
