I got this 1988 190E 2.3 16V in june 2008. Saw it on the internet, it had a dead engine but looked very nice on the pictures the owner sent.
I negociated a low price, that said i wanted to pay the minimum possible on the car because i had to :
-Pay the transporter from Grenoble to Toulouse (about 500kms)
-I was lucky finding a guy in Annecy (again on the web) who had accidented his 2.3 16, he sold me his 130000 kms engine complete with the Bosch KE Jetronic items, and a Getrag gearbox for a very reasonable price (500euros)
I had to pay him to get them to Grenoble, so the car came to Toulouse along with an engine and a gearbox.
A month later the car was running with the new engine, a lovely car that used to be a childhood dream machine, is now 20 years old, alive and running not like i want it to but fair enough for a 400.000kms car....

I'll keep some notices about my future projects on the car, ideas and items/parts that can suit the 16V.
