October 21, 2011 It was a pretty Friday-ish Friday at work, in that it went really slowly and I just couldn't wait for the weekend to start. Dan surprised me by suggesting that we go to Evelyn's, a Lebanese restaurant in New Brunswick that I was OBSESSED with for a long time, but haven't been to in over four years, because I wasn't sure I could convince Dan that he could find something to eat there, especially since hummus falls under his cheesy/creamy ban, and the hummus is the reason I was so obsessed in the first place. (It was also, incidentally, the place I was going to make Dan go to if I'd won our fantasy football matchup; instead I had to not eat cheese for a whole week.) ANYWAY. We went there and it was exactly as amazing as I remembered. My dinner was mahamsa - seasoned ground beef on a plate of hummus and I am not ashamed to say I totally was queen of the clean plate club.

Vacant building, George Street, Oxford
For no particular reason I decided to take a photograph of every building in the George Street / Cornmarket Street / St Michael Street / New Inn Hall Street block in January 2010. This is the repeat exercise to see what has or has not changed in the intervening year. This building remains vacant. It has been like this since at least 2002. I cannot understand how this building has stood empty like this on what is a fairly busy city centre street.
