Vintage Westinghouse fluorescent fixture circa 1965 This fixture is actually a tandem unit which is 8 feet long but has two 4 foot sections using 2 F40T12 lamps each. The fixture itself was made in 1965 and has two rapid start ballasts, one for each 4 foot section. The diffusers have a cool pattern on the clear part with a white surrounding area. While the diffusers are age yellowed, they are pretty thick and sturdy. I was lucky enough to rescue one when my highschool was demolished and rebuilt. Sadly the rest are long gone. I knew I had to take one because this was the only fixture that I hadn't seen anywhere else. I suspect that Westinghouse also made preheat versions of these fixtures but I don't know for sure.
