Pleasures of Spring
Designed by Becky Buser Springtime abounds in the pastel color palette of the Noritake “Cortege” fine china and yellow mist Fostoria crystal from the wedding of Greg and Becky Buser. The Blair Milling Company of Atchison, Kansas, awarded the silverplate flatware for the honor of being selected as the top achieving boy/girl in the Atchison County 4-H program. Receiving his in 1973, Greg’s is the one with more flowers and is named “Silver Renaissance” by the 1847 Rogers Brothers division of International Silver. Also from International Silver, Becky’s pattern is named “Countess” and was received in 1975. The “Countess” water pitcher and candle stick holders were added to their table accoutrements after they were married. Guests can envision and enjoy the pleasures of springtime and the relaxation of a spa each time they use one of the gifts from the trunk of treasures.
Quilt A Days Outing
My latest finds are 2 cut crystal coasters that were made to hold drinking glasses on a table. I realized when I picked them up that old coasters are the perfect size to hold pillar candles. My dining room table now has two beautiful and elegant candle holders that were just 2 dollars apiece. My guess is that so few people use the crystal or silver coasters anymore that there isn’t much of a market for them… but as candle holders, they are perfect.
