Upon closer inspection several of these are merely plated: the set of tiniest spoons in the felt wrapper, the big round flat plate/tray in the center, the warming dish with the wood handle, the pierced basket tray on the felt wrapper. The oblong platter (that the warming pan is sitting on) may be plated, I need to check its back. The dutch spoons (at front left) decorated with ships, cranes, windmills and whatnot- look to be pewter. Everything else is sterling, some Whiting, some Gorham, and some I haven't looked up yet. Some of the sterling is exceedingly worn (the flatware looks like it was used every day for a lifetime and the chop plates are ... chopped), some is looking pretty good (the bowls). This is just what came home in the luggage. Now we wait for the rest to get shipped.
