Tea Trio For A Farmhouse 1975 - 1977
Tea Trio For A Farmhouse 1975 - 1977
Tea-set, sterling silver with walnut handles. The pot capacity is 8 cups and measures 8.5" H x 7" D and weighs 36 oz. The sugar canister weighs 10 oz and the milk jug weighs 8 oz. The walnut used for the handles came from an old newel post in the Scituate farmhouse that the Ferrinis lived in during the seventies. The full and rounded forms were raised from flat discs polished smooth on upper half of form, gradually increased hammered texture as we feel the form downward to the table. The pot lid is hinged with heavy tube-hinge while the sugar canister has a unique hinge on one side of the lid. The other side has a beak-like form, which allows the sugar canister lid to accept the spoon. The milk pitcher also has a full, rounded form, perhaps chick-like. The pot lid is set with d beach stone from Peggoty Beach at Scituate, MA and the tea strainer perforations spell out the name, Heidi's Pot. This set was started in London, England while Ferrini was doing a teaching exchange with Frank Beck at Sir John Cass College, London, and finished two years later in his Scituate studio. The set is a gift to Ferrini's wife, Heidi. This is not for sale.
