My first shot taken using the Canon Speedlite ST-E2 transmitter to control the off-camera flashes. I was a little worried about how it would perform outdoors (shooting into the sun), and whether using ETTL would lower the amount of control I had over the flashes. Well, I am now totally reassured! Took about 40 exposures during this shoot - the flashes were triggered correctly 100% of the time (despite the low glaring sun). And the flash ratio option gives great control over the flash balance (plus using ETTL meant I was getting useable shots from the get-go - none of the experimentation involved in manual settings) - suiting the Fwump Style perfectly ;-) While I would definitely have gone for the Pocket Wizards if I'd had the funds, I have to say that I think this will do me nicely for the time being. (Just a shame that its functionality isn't built into Canon DSLRs... grr). Lighting: 580EXII to camera right, lighting the face. 430EX behind the camera to the left, lighting the hand and frame. Ratio set 2:1 in favour of 580.
