To all website visitors,

All 1797 Siege of San Juan participants have been invited to a Festival Sevillano to be held in Old San Juan this weekend. This is an event external to our reenactment so that food and drink are not free. All event participants in uniform will receive discounts on their drinks. Most of us will go after dinner and jollification at the Casa Blanca Tavern is over. Old San Juan nightlife starts at 11:00 PM. This event is being held in a Tasca (Spanish Restaurant) located in the 16th century building built for the Cabildo or original San Juan municipality.

Please check the final schedule. Thank you.

Tourism Company of Puerto Rico Award!

Final Travel Stipend News Bulletin
31 March 2009 • 10:00 PM

Due to government budgetary constraints, the Tourism Company of Puerto Rico awarded a very small amount. Due to a huge deficit in the billions, we are lucky we received anything. We have to be grateful even if our expectations were higher and were not met.

We asked everyone interested in coming to purchase their tickets and send us the information. The people that did will each receive $100. This includes camp followers and tickets purchased with frequent flyer miles. That is the best we can do.

People that have not sent us information can come, but there will be no stipend for them. We have barrack space, black powder, meals and ground transportation from and to the airport. Our tavern will be well stocked and free. If you still choose to come, send us your information soon.

Because of the huge delay, the event has less participants. Even then, we have great units coming:
  • 64th Regiment of Foot
  • 42nd Royal Highland Regiment
  • Pawtuset Rangers
  • 4rth King's Own Regiment of Foot
  • 3rd New York Long Island Companies
  • King's Royal Yorkers
  • 19th Light Dragoons
  • 2nd Long Island Regiment
  • 4th Continental Light Dragoons
  • 21st French Line infantry
  • Saintogne Regiment
For those who could not come, we expect the honor of having you visit San Juan next year.

Best regards,
