Also safe swimming in lagoon (ideal for toddlers) and in the sea, surfing, hiking trails (Assegai Trails, Belton, Cannon Rocks, Alexandria Hiking Trail in the Addo Elephant National Park covers three eco-systems, high forest, desert-like dunes and spectacular beaches), mountain biking, township tours, whale & dolphin watching.

There are excellent golf courses neaby: Royal Port Alfred (shown below), Bushman Sands, Fish River Sun and Grahamstown Golf Club.
