Day 547 - Day 182 “Spoon in spoon, Stirring my coffee…” Spoon: Dave Matthews Band, Before These Crowded Streets I love this final song off the album, pulling you in the the soft melodic draw of both the acoustic guitar and the wonderful melodic lines of Dave and another favorite, Alanis. When I first heard this song I didn’t even have to look up who the guest artist was. Alanis just sort of has that unmistakable voice. This song was always about seeking answers, especially when they were literally the ones I was asking like “Could dad be God?”. This song always reinforced the desire and need to ask the questions in life. I question more so those who do not question things! *** Artist Notes *** My wonderful Nightmare Before Christmas mug! Lyrics: Spoon in spoon Stirring my coffee I thought of you And turned to the gate And on my way came up with the answers I scratched my head And the answers were gone From hand to hand, Wrist to the elbow Red blood sand Could Dad be God? Crosses cross hung out like a wet rag Forgive you? Why? You hung me out to dry And maybe I'm crazy But laughing out loud Makes the pain pass by And maybe you're a little crazy But laughing out loud makes it all subside Holding, I'm holding I'm still falling, I'm still falling Spoon in spoon Stirring my coffee I thought of this And turned to the gate But on my way Crack lightning and thunder I hid my head And the storm slipped away Well, maybe I'm crazy But laughing out loud Makes it all pass by And maybe you're a little crazy And laughing out loud Makes it all alright Laughing out loud From time to time, Minutes and hours Some move ahead while Some lag behind It's like the balloon that Rise and then vanish This drop of hope That falls from his eyes Spoon in spoon Stirring my coffee I think of this And turn to go away But as I walk There're voices behind me saying: "Sinners sin, come now and play." Laughing out loud... Come now and play... Come in from the cold for a while, Everything will be all right Come in from the noise for a time, Everything will be alright Everything will be alright For now, goodbye Friend, goodbye sept 30 3009: b's house
360/365 initially i wanted to take this picture because bethany was wearing a bright blue shirt that matched the mug in the foreground and the lamp in the background. though to accent those colors, i should have moved all the other mugs. thus, we have it in black and white. wednesday was a really good day. got some stuff done. went over to bethany's for dinner with her, bradley, and joel. this photo holds more significance now, though. on friday it was just me and b sitting around that table drinking tea and holding life together. she is a good, a very very good friend.
