What are Scouters?
Scouters are the Adult Volenteers who help run the Scout Group on a day to day basis. They have to undergo some speclaised training within their respective sections. i.e. Beaver, Cub and Scout Training. It is also a requirement that they be qualified in administering First Aid. Under the rules and regulations all Scouters within Scouting Ireland undergo a specialised Training Course dealing with Child Welfare and Protection.

So Who's Who in Monasterevin Scouts
Group Leader
Christy McEvoy is the Group Leader in our Scout Group. He has been involved in Scouting since 1990 and has been Group Leader since 2008. Christy is also the Section Leader in Cub Scouts. However most importantly Christy is the Main Chef when we are away on Camp. (Makes a Mean Burger and Spicey Mince).To Contact Christy please use the Email Address below:
Deputy Group Leader
Brian Dunne is the Deputy Group Leader in the group. He began his involvment is Scouting back in the early eighties as a Scout, under the then Group Leader Pat Ryan. He has been involved in Scouts as an Adult since 1990, however left for serveral years to persue his career. He returned to Scouting in 1999. Brian is also the Section Leader in Scouts. Group Treasurer
Tony Kirwan has been involved in Scouting in Monasterevin since the late Eighties. He has served as Section Leader in various Sections throughout his time in Scouting. Tony was also the Group Leader until 1999. He now serves as Group Treasurer.Beaver Section Leader
Jonathan (Jacko) Maher has been involved in Scouting since he was Six years old. He started as a Beaver himself, and has moved up through all the section, until finally in 2009 he became a unit scouter. He is now the Section Leader for Beavers.Unit Scouters
