Dear Friends,

             I would like to welcome you all to the 14^th  Kildare, Monasterevin Scout Group Web Site. This site now brings Monasterevin scouting into the modern era of the world wide web.

             Early beginnings in 1979 have been successively built on over the years to give us the Scout Group and resources we have today. From Beaver Scouts at age 6 through the Cub Scout section and the Scout Troop, I can assure you, Scouting is a game second to none.

The programmes offered are run to the highest standards as laid down by Scouting Ireland. They help to develop young people's independence, leadership skills, and their appreciation of the outdoors as well as progressive training in scouting and outdoor skills.

When you and your child become a member of the Monasterevin Scout Group you will begin to see the real value that Scouting has to offer young people today.

This site has many features where you and your child can see from week to week what events are going on. It also gives members and parents alike the chance to comment on various scout events, programmes etc. We would encourage you to visit the site and get involved by showing your appreciation of an event that we ran well, or offering tips on where it went wrong so that it might be done different in the future.

For people who have left scouting, some not long ago others years ago we would value your contributions of memories and details of people that were in the scouts in your time. Come on tells your stories. Please leave a message for us and maybe forward on this website to people who you might think would have and interest in scouting.

So to finish up I hope this site gives both young and old a chance to look back at events that have taking place, live the memories of those days and that it will be an important tool in keeping all leaders and members informed of what is coming up.
