@ Montgomery County, New York. (Enlarge the map to the original size to see things better.) This is a 1905 Map of the Town of Florida & the City of Amsterdam in Montgomery County, New York. I've added colors and annotations (see the top right corner of the map) to identify main roads and a creek -- all of which still exist today. The general Phillips' Locks area (i.e., Locks 26 and 27) on the enlarged Erie Canal is circled in pink with an arrow pointing to it. I may just take a shovel and start digging out there. :))

Starting out. This is the basic stuff I used. Phillips head screw driver size 000, 1.5mm normal head screwdriver, q-tips (I used about 10), alcohol for cleaning, a small container for keeping the screws from disappearing. I also ended up using some pretty big plummers plyers (not on the picture) for taking off the rear lens element. I ended up spending about 3 hours, but it was a good challenge, and it saved me from buying a new lens (about 480$ in DK)
