March 26, 2011: The drill press used to fabricate the interrupt switch boxes for Equipment Barn electrical system. These switches are rated for up to 1000 amp circuits. We will be using them in a 250Amp 48volt system. There will be three main cut-offs, one from the Array Junction terminals leading to the Solar Charge Controller, one from the Battery Leading to the DC Junction terminals, and one between the DC Junction terminals and the AC Inverters. In addition to the main cut-offs, there will also be a circuit interrupt switches for each series string of Batteries in the Battery Array, and for each series string of Photovoltaic Panels in the Solar Array.
