Yes, I have been tagged by Donasite, thanks friend :D The game is that a self portrait is posted. As you see I bent the rules. (bashful) Be ready for a flickrmail if you are looking at this shot! 1. I live in the Kootenays of British Columbia, Canada, in the Columbia River valley, with the Monashee Mountains and the Selkirk Mountains surrounding the valley. 2. We are a pack of three at this time, Leader of the pack, Second leader (me) and Bailey our Brit who is supposed to be the follower. 3. As you can see I wear boots in the bush. 4. My feet are on the large side, good for walking. 5. I enjoy my camera, have lots to learn about using it fully. 6. I like to sew. 7. I sewed the pants shown in this shot. It was a bolt sale at Fabricland for $7.00 and I made a pair of long pants, a pair of long shorts, and have enough left for another pair of pants. Do you think that is enough of a fashion statement for the bush, washing floors or gardening? 8. I like music, bluegrass, especially a CD with music written by one of our three sons, also like Willy Nelson,Fred Eaglesmith,John Reishchman and The Jaybirds, United Steel Workers of Montreal (Broken Trucks and Bottles) Coldplay, Pink Floyd, Jeff Healey,(Angel Eyes) Eric Clapton. 9. I like to read the Vancouver Sun every day. 10. Nonfiction has been my favourite lately. On the go now is "For Joshua" by Richard Wagamese, a Canadian and BC author. HIs book "One Native Life" a collection of his newspaper columns was a good read. Other authors I have enjoyed is Chris Czajkowski, her series of books on life in the BC wilderness, Anny Scoones her books about life on a heritage farm near Sidney BC ("Home, Tales of a Heritage Farm), Cougar Annie's Garden by Magaret Horsfield. 11. My secret vice is books about the Royal Family. 12. I enjoy my garden, I grow perennials, love the foliage and all stages of their growth. I appreciate perennials that provide interest from early spring to late fall into winter from fresh green foliage, blooming, fall colours, seed heads in the snow. Not too many do it all but some do have a long span of interest. 13. In my garden I am now planting more grasses and hostas. 14. One of my pleasures is coffee--one cup of black French press at breakfast, one latte at lunch, made with stove top espresso maker. 15. I go to Circuit Strength class three times a week at the community complex. Have to start back on Monday after the Xmas break. 16.Never had anything to do with a computer till 3 years ago, except for the computer in my sewing machine, and have lots to learn, having fun doing just that and I really enjoy flickr. My main beef: need more time!

A Cup of Joe
Stand out coffee experiences within my 27 years: 1. my first coffee experience at age 14...I tried it with cream and sugar...it didn't help. 2. my next coffee experience...at age 26. My then girlfriend got a coffee maker, needless to say my tastebuds hadn't matured in 12 years. 3. When I was young, my dad and I would set out early in the mornings...mostly for motorsports adventures. On almost every occasion he would bring along a styrofoam cup of coffee...which included a few pieces of ice to temper its 200 degree temperature. Without fail he would fill the cup to the brim. If he felt lucky he would hold tight to the cup as we traveled over potholes and bumps...trying to balance and juggle as we moved about. If he felt the opposite he would pass the black baton over to yours truly...call it a learning lesson if you will. 4. Since moving westward I've grown fond of two coffee roasters - barefoot in Silicon Valley and blue bottle in San Fran. ...needless to say I drink a cup (or two) daily these days.
