I don't generally assign much value to material objects beyond what they are worth. One exception to this is my Master Mechanic 6-in-1 driver that I refer to as "my yellow screwdriver". I've had it for close to 10 years, and it was the first "serious" tool I ever bought for myself. Despite being a very inexpensive tool, I've grown quite attached to it. I think the reason for this attachment stems from the fact I've had it so long, and it's been with me for several phases of my life. When I bought it, I used it to work on bicycles. Later, I used it to work on my first car, and my first motorcycle, and my first apartment. One time I lost it, and didn't find it again for two months. I can't tell you how relieved I was when I found it. Since then, I've been very careful to return it to my toolbox when I'm done with it, I'm not taking any chances with it anymore. I recently purchased a fairly old motorcycle, and when you ride an old motorcycle you need to have a lot of tools on board. I went to the local hardware store where I purchased my first 6-in-1 screwdriver, and found that they had a very similar model for sale. I purchased one to carry on the bike. I thought it would be interesting to take some photos of the two screwdrivers together, to show what 10 years of hard work, banging around in my toolbox and one flood have done to my original driver. It's been a rough 10 years for my yellow screwdriver, but I'm sure it has at least 10 more in it. I wasn't real happy with how these came out, too grainy. At the time, I didn't fully understand ISO... or I wouldn't have had it cranked up to 800.
