Alleviating the guilt. I love to bake. And I love to eat what I bake. And I do it way too often. So, I was perusing the Deceptively Delicious cookbook and saw a brownie recipe that had pureed spinach and carrots. I figured it was worth a try. And I have to tell you, Jessica Seinfeld is onto something. They were actually pretty decent. And I felt much less guilty devouring 3 of them in one sitting since I knew I was getting some veggies!
wink wink. deceptively delicious by jessica seinfeld
i used to be into the idea of hiding vegetables in my kids' food. then jessica came out with her wink wink book. and even putting aside the controversy over whether she stole the whole idea, jeez, anything jessica seinfeld does, i DON'T do. me, last night, to everett: "these are yellow carrots. aren't they lovely? they're going in your meatloaf. look." hehe.
