Mug Collection Here's the story behind my mug collection. When I moved out of my parents home and unpacked "things" I had collected for that day of independence, I found a box of mugs. Oddly enough they were all mix-matched. Some were gifts and some I bought just because I liked them. And I decided that I liked that and (much to my mothers chagrin) the mix-matched mug collection has been a part of my kitchen since 1984. Three in the current collection are from the original "find": - bottom row, second from the right; given to me by my ex-would-have-been-mother-in-law, written on it is "May your day be filled with love."(she liked me a lot) - second row up, second one from the right; given to me by a very dear friend, on the handle is tiny cat looking inside at an even tinier mouse glazed into the bottom of the mug (the friend was killed in a head on collision in 1/21/85) - top row, center; given to me by another very dear friend, the handle is a winged dragon (the friend & I have since grown apart but I still cherish our friendship) Mugs
The random collection of mugs in my mother's cupboard. Each one has a story. I like to look at them when I visit, and then I often select one and use it to store a hot beverage. Sometimes tea, sometimes coffee (instant, either Maxwell House or Nescafe). Occasionally Hot Chocolate.
