Flannel flowers
Flannel flower plants can produce some flowers all year round, but it is around this time of the year that they really start producing lots of flowers. The plants tend to like open sunny spots, so often put on a nice display right beside bush tracks or, as is the case here, they've colonised an area of bushland that was badly burnt out a few years ago.
