A very nice old manual press drill, seems in very good working order, has a ton of history and is an object I like. So it will be put on the worbench eventually. And used. Comes from a long deceased carpenter's shop, and a nice touch is it's American made, North Bros Mfg of Philadelphia. 70 cm tall excluding handle for vertical adjustment of table, which is a replacement/repair: welded on piece of steel. Could be put right. Might be missing a washer on the screw part of the clamping mech. And obviously the table which looks like cast iron is broken, which means unfortunately drilling it and using recessed screw/nut for fixing a 8 mm thick steel plate, unless I can think of a less destructive way of making a plate repair. To any folks wishing to explain to me the psychological reasons behind gathering and using this sort of stuff, thx all the same, don't call me, I'll call you :)

This one has definitely seen lots of use, mostly before I acquired it somewhere around 1960. A Yankee multi-geared hand drill. The crank was broken and repaired at some point, a few gear teeth are broken off, but it can still drive screws and torque them down nice and tight. Next 2 shots in sequence are closer in.
