For Friday's Lyrical Imagery theme "Summer Songs". "New Shoes" by Paolo Nutini. Now I know you might be scratching your head and saying, "Um, Mary Ann? There really is no mention of summer in this song....um...." And to that I would say, "Well, not in the strictest sense. But when this song first came out it was just before summer. I spent all summer long bopping everywhere to it. We listened to it while camping in Tahoe, while having pool parties, while driving to the beach for some relief from the searing heat inland. It was my summer song, and every time I hear it it makes me smile and remember the fun we had that year!" That being said, I'm not sure summer is coming to California this year. We have been hit with winter storm after winter storm all month long. I love the rain, but this is getting ridiculous!! Happy FLI everyone!!! I'm visiting the family at the farm for a few weeks, so that means I may/may not be shovelling cow manure soon (well no, because that's for the summer.. ick!). My sister set up the tree yesterday and almost all the presents are already wrapped and ready to be unwrapped in less than a week! The parents bought one of those trees that have lights built-in from Canadian Tire, it actually isnt' bad. It's easier to assemble than most faux-christmas trees, and it saves the time of having to put the lights on the tree.
