Goodbye Toronto

And goodbye Canada. We're off home tomorrow. Our last supper in the seafood restaurant promised more than it delivered. It looked very swish and the waiters were the most subservient I've ever come across. But the food was merely average. Not bad but nothing special. I also managed to embarrass myself when ordering dessert. I tried to ask for the seasonal berries, but kept saying "seasonable" and then didn't know where to go as I'd already used up my B. In the end I pointed. Over dinner we decided that we've loved seeing all the different places, but that it's been very tiring and occasionally stressful. Our favourite place was Niagara. As for the cities we thought Ottawa was the overall winner, although Quebec old town was the prettiest. Toronto has been fun too. Apparently Peter Ustinov once described it as New York run by the Swiss. Being less eloquent, I recently described it as like the arse end of New York. Less eloquent perhaps, but more accurate, I feel.
