Delaware Lackawanna Railroad MLW M636 locomotive # 3643, was coupled to an Alco C425 locomotive near the railroad yard in Scranton, PA, 2002 A Delaware Lackawanna Railroad MLW M636 locomotive # 3643, was coupled to an Alco C425 locomotive # 2461, near the railroad yard in Scranton, PA, during 2002. I was traveling through the Scranton area and observed these Alco shortline locomotives wearing their great paint schemes. This was a location I could get too easily on an overcast and rainy day, so I did. The face of an old Alco locomotive means business to me, because I think these vintage freight train workhorse's are really neat. When you can hear these locomotives run and see the smoke coming from the exhaust stacks, it is impressive. In the background you may notice part of the Steam Town railroad museum complex. This 3 inch diameter (75mm) plastic coaster promotes Standard Tru-Age Beer, of Scranton, PA. The coaster was made by Beacon, sometime before 1954, as that was the year that Standard Brewing ceased operations. I think that there may have been some coloring in the graphics, but time has worn it away.
