HERE'S HOW TO SPOT A CHEMISTRY STUDENT IN A CROWD: - Deadened, faintly hostile expression; - Permanent red goggle indentation around eyes; - Backpack twice the width of body; - Graphing calculator protruding from pocket; - Travel coffee mug permanently affixed to hand. SAFETY WARNING: In conversation, it's generally best to avoid certain words and topics around these students. Words to avoid include: titration, record, temperature, cooling/heating curve, pre-lab, percent error, and significant digits.
