Red hat mug : Vintage mugs : Ceramics mugs. Red Hat Mug
Mug in a Cozy Bag In our running club it is a custom to bring our own dishes to XC races for lunch. I made a couple of bags to protect a special ceramic mug and bowl won in previous years. The spiral tube sock idea is so versatile for things like this! For the mug I cast on 36 stitches and ribbed by knitting 2 pearl 1 for about 6 cm. Then I started spiraling the knit 3 pearl 3 rib until I decided it was long enough to swallow the whole mug, with room to use the top straight ribbing as a handle. I reduced the stitches k2tog k1 p2tog p1. Then after a clear round of knitting and pearling I k2tog and p2tog until there were 12 stitches left, then finished it off like a hat or a mitt. Wayback machine: Red Hat badge for iXL
I cleaned up a pile of old iXL stuff and found my Red Hat badge. This was around the time Red Hat Network days... good stuff. When they took my photo for the badge the rule was "try not to look boring". So, I held up my Canada Dry and mugged. Heh. The backdrop is my iXL lunch cooler Koozie.
