the pimp chronicles Pub: XIV 8/10/10 How many times have you heard some dumbass white person say this after giving you a short lecture referencing something against a black person, "Believe me, I got plenty of black friends too”. Okay. Right there? Do us both a favor and... SHUT THE FUCK UP! Just the fact that you need to try to quantify how not racist you are by mentioning all these arbitrary black friends you have is telling me you are bullshitting yourself. You can only make this worse if you start going on about reverse racism and how it’s just as bad as racism. Just stop. I’m about to puke on you white person if you continue talking. Just stop this cycle of endless bullshit that started with us anyway. You can start with taking everything you think you know about flip side of the issue and realize you don’t know shit. But most importantly you can do yourself a favor by understand this: We are all racist. Don’t feel so bad about it, seriously. It’s impossible to be human and not make initial rash judgments about someone who seems different than you. You will naturally come to these conclusions based on your own life, interactions, and experiences. Or in other words: being racist. Let’s say Wally Whiteman is walking down the street one night in his mostly white suburban community. Barry Blackman approaches him simply walking the opposite direction. Neither of them gives a fuck about each other and are both just walking home. But I’m betting the entire length of my cock that both of them formed prejudgments based strictly on race and demeanor as they graced paths. Does that make them both racists? YES! Yes it does. Just because you don’t go around screaming “Nigger” at every black person you meet doesn’t clear you of racism. Racism can be merely felt. As soon as you accept the fact that you too are a little racist, you’ll be a lot happier. And things will make a lot more sense to you. I bet you’ll even stop mentioning all your imaginary black friends that you don’t have when discussing race with people. Okay well let’s not get carried away with this now. I wouldn’t go around calling yourself as a racist unless you feel this is an appropriate word to describe you. The person I’ve described thus far is just confused and scared to even broach the topic of racism. They dance around it, don’t feel comfortable discussing it, and are basically in denial of their own feelings and thoughts. Are you a proud outspoken racist who regularly uses the words seen in this photo to throw your hate around? You’ll know if you are one of those pieces of shit. If so, this little diddy doesn’t apply to you. Please immediately exit stage left, thank you. So why did Wally form that prejudgment against Barry on that street anyway? Well probably because a lot black people actually do commit a lot of crimes such as mugging someone on the street in or around the cities of America. But the key here is to understanding that the fact that he is black has almost entirely nothing to do with it. It’s all to do with socioeconomic status of the people living in these cities. Who happen to be mostly black. They grow up in conditions surrounded by this type of behavior. This does not EXONERATE anyone from acting this way. I’m simply supplying you with the RATIONALE. So pimp, why are many of these areas largely black then? Well you don’t think anyone would want to live there and be a part of that do you? Go to the library or even read about the history of inner cities of America on Wikipedia, it’s actually quite interesting. If I could just sum this entire fucker up with one bit of advice regarding race, it would be this: Everybody just lighten the fuck up about it already! Thank you, pimp €?n??м ?ђu ?$
Who's Telling Your Story?
Who's Telling Your Story?
I’ve never been interested in predictions about the future, although I will admit to being smitten with the idea that a whole life can be written in the lines of a hand, or that a spot of tea in the afternoon might begin with a spoon of sugar and end in a shadowy prophecy at the bottom of a mug. But there’s a lot of romance in the art of fortune telling -- much that’s appealing in the notion that all of the events of your existence are somehow contained, from the very beginning, within you or about your person. All of your successes and failures swirling around you like mists, waiting to be divined by the nearest interpreter. Or maybe it's really the nearest storyteller. And after all, which one of us could say that she doesn’t enjoy hearing stories about herself? Still, if you don’t believe in psychic forces there’s not much to be said for having your palm read, or your tea leaves, or your Tarot cards. If you don’t believe in psychic forces, it’s just you and a woman in scarves making up stories about you, really, and taking your money into the bargain. Isn’t it? Well, usually it is. But not if you have someone like Anya Weber sitting opposite you at the table. Anya is a petite, no-nonsense editor who works for a school publisher by day and writes plays and screenplays by night. She wears serious wire-rimmed glasses, behind which sit a pair of unusually thoughtful eyes. Her back is straight, her conversation sharp, and she impresses new acquaintances with her grave intelligence and sly sense of humor. She also happens to be a Tarot reader, and has been for the past 13 years – ever since a college roommate with less persistent inclinations bought and abandoned a deck. Anya insists, though, that she doesn’t use the cards to tell the future. Instead, she’s part of a psychological tradition in the world of Tarot. During readings, she explains to her clients what she believes the cards they’ve chosen can mean, and invites them to form personal interpretations based on their own understandings of what’s important in their lives. In effect, rather than trying to tell their stories for them, Anya gives people the tools to become their own storytellers. At least, that’s how I see it. But since I want to observe this process for myself, we arrange for her to conduct a reading where I can be in attendance.
