Updates Area Camp and Course in Dec

posted ‎‎Sep 30, 2009 10:37 PM‎‎ by Lipin Liew   [ updated ‎‎Sep 30, 2009 10:47 PM‎‎ ]

Dear All,

There are some changes to the dates of the Area camp. It will now be held from the 28th-30th of November. Please note the changes. Your PLs will be helping me collect the contact details, please do get in touch with them.

All Sec 1 to 3 scouts are invited to take part in the "Pioneering & Woodcraft Course". It has been a while since this course is conducted at HQ level, so if you are interested to learn more about pioneering and wish to work towards a pioneering proficiency badge, please see course details on under the course page <here>. No pre-requisites... the course instructor is willing to take beginners as long as they are willing to put in effort in their learning. As this is a resource/manpower intensive course to run, vacancies will be limited. Please try to give me the cheques/forms by 16th Oct so that I can "reserve" a place for interest scouts.

Exams are drawing near, please make the effort to do well. :)

Dear All,
I am aware it's the NATAs season and your family may be planning for a trip this EOY. Here's the latest, which will include the NZ trip plans (which was freshly approved after teacher's day celebrations...):
1) We will have our campfire/gangshow on 14th of Nov.
2) We will have our NZ trip 21st Nov-2nd Dec.
3) Those not on NZ trip will attend the Area Camp by SSA, 28th Nov - 2nd Dec, at Sariumbun.

More updates will be given in the admin briefing on Wednesday (2/9).

YOG Volunteer

posted ‎‎Jul 30, 2009 10:54 PM‎‎ by Lipin Liew

The SSA is looking for scouts to volunteer for the YOG. It is definitely something exciting as this is the first time Singapore is hosting the world's youths on our shores. If you can commit the time and you want to be part of this, please read the attached file for areas of work.

If you are willing to sign up, please go to this link and type in your particulars. I'll be collating and submitting this list after the national day weekend. Remember to save the file once you are done, and do not amend entries by others. Thank you.

Regards,
Ms Liew

Training Resumed

posted ‎‎Jul 16, 2009 10:41 PM‎‎ by Lipin Liew

Dear Scouts,

Monday Trainings will resume next week (T3W4) and test taking will be conducted. Please check with your respective batch i/cs for details.

Wednesday meeting will be a short(er) one to facilitate hike test planning. Your respective batch i/cs will meet your batch to help you on the proposal. Once the batch is done with the work, batch will be dismissed.

For all scout sessions, batches are not allowed to inter-mingle, with exception of sec 4s who'd need to administer tests. Temperature taking will be conducted prior to the start of all activities.

As school management releases latest information on H1N1 plans weekly (usually on Friday the week prior), I seek your understanding in that there may be some last minute changes to activities. Please keep your communication channels open, ie emails/SMSes etc. Do note that scouts sessions are still on Monday and Wednesday, and we will revert to normal state once the green light is given from the school management.

Do have a good weekend.

Ms Liew

CCA Stand down & Campfire postponement

posted ‎‎Jul 6, 2009 7:18 PM‎‎ by Lipin Liew

Dear All,
CCA Stand down will continue into this week (T3W2).

In addition, in the light of the uncertainties in the weeks ahead and instructions to maintain social distancing practices, we will have to move our campfire to November (post exams). When CCA starts, we will resume training/testing.

Ms Liew

CCA Stand Down

posted ‎‎Jun 28, 2009 3:03 AM‎‎ by Lipin Liew

Dear 02 Scouts,
All school CCA and afternoon activities will stand down for a period of 1 week in T3W1.

Auditions will have to cancelled as well due to JC & Sec sections should be kept separate as far as possible so that in the event of transmission, we need not close both sections.

Do take care of your health during this period.
