My name is Arwa, and I am a 24-year-old graduate from the Architecture Department at the Faculty of Engineering, Zagazig University (ZU). Currently, I am employed as a Furniture Designer at "Kana Furniture Workshop."
I have applied for the "Maker Diploma" program to deepen my knowledge of digital fabrication, a field I am highly passionate about.
This interest has been further fueled by my company's recent adoption of CNC machines and its shift toward mass customization.
I believe this program will significantly enhance my ability to contribute effectively to these advancements.
Additionally, I am enthusiastic about expanding my skill set and am particularly excited to learn coding, Arduino, and other related technologies. I am always eager to embrace new learning opportunities and look forward to the growth this program will offer.
My Korean Language Journey
From 2022 to 2023, I studied the Korean language at the King Sejong Institute, located at the Korean Cultural Center in Egypt.
Over the course of a year, I successfully completed three levels of proficiency: 1A, B1, and A2.
This experience was both enriching and rewarding, allowing me to deepen my understanding of the Korean language and culture.
It was an incredible journey that broadened my horizons and enhanced my appreciation for linguistic and cultural diversity.
In 2021, I founded my own brand, focusing on the creation and sale of eco-friendly products.
These included items such as :
Tote Bags
ceramic Mug
plywood keychains
Currently, I have decided to take a step back from this venture to dedicate more time and energy to advancing my career in architecture. This pause allows me to fully focus on my professional growth and architectural pursuits.

In 2023, I participated in a 4-day Laser Cutting Workshop at "Creative Ismailia", dedicating 7 hours each day to intensive training.
During the workshop, I gained hands-on experience using Fusion 360 and successfully produced both 2D and 3D prototypes.
This experience enhanced my technical skills and deepened my understanding of digital fabrication processes.
The workshop, organized by "Sector B5" at "Creativa Giza", spanned four consecutive days. On the first day, we learned the fundamentals of creating Islamic patterns manually, followed by applying these designs digitally using "Fusion 360".
The program culminated in a visit to Smart Village, where we produced our 2D prototypes using a laser cutter.
This hands-on experience provided valuable insights into both traditional design techniques and modern digital fabrication methods.
I was responsible for designing the prototype and presenting its functionality. You can view the detailed explanation and design process in the following document:
