Hi! Welcome to my page.

I am Kirsten, a Belgian happily living in the Egyptian sun since 2017. My education is in the culinary field, so I love getting creative in the kitchen and cooking for friends in the weekends. In the week you will find me in my wooden toys workshop in Hadeyak Elmaadi. 

My partner and I founded Kinkajou for wooden toys in 2021. I learned the basics of Autocad drawing on youtube and took some courses in woodworking in Cairo to get familiar with the Arabic terminology. My father is a very handy do-it-all, so I did learn some basics. Taking a course in Arabic helped me find my way around the cnc producers and wood suppliers in Mazraet ElBaT. I love the prototyping phase the most of creating a new toy! And looking for the parts to bring the product together. The more I learn about making and meet people in the makers field, the more I want to know.

When I am not cooking or doing woodwork, you can find me in the pool or doing some gymnastics to stay fit.
