[Alaa]'s Maker Journal
About Me
People tend to introduce themselves through their jobs, others by telling their dreams, But lately I keep asking myself who am I?
I'll start with the basics, my name is Alaa, but I tend to tell people it's Alaa Elboushy, it feels more cinematic đŸ˜‚ I'm going to be 25 next September, and I graduated from Architecture School, let's say it was a dream that came true.
It was a tough journey though, it drained me but somehow made me grow, I enjoyed learning about Design, Documenting, the History of architecture, and Sustainability.
After graduation, I was afraid to be lost, So I started working at KANA Furniture, a brand specialized in manufacturing customized furniture, I learned a lot there for 2 years.
I worked as a technical engineer for 2 companies, the 1st is Beck, located in England, where I made the shop drawings of the plinths for the artifacts, and the 2nd is KANA, where I made interior designs, and the drawings for furniture pieces.
But I never stopped questioning whether I did this because I wanted it, or because I was told that it would suit me, so I left my job, and applied for the diploma, hoping that it would be a step closer to knowing myself better...
Finally, I love content creation, telling stories, and being real in a world full of fake people, so here's my Instagram account, one of my favorite things I made with love and passion.
Interests & Hobbies
I have many hobbies: Painting, Sketching, Handcrafting, Journaling, Renovating, and finally Content Creation.
My interests vary, as I love visiting historical places, traveling, also learning more about Architecture, Urban Planning, and History Documentation.
What i am looking forward for?
I joined Maker Diploma; Because I wanted to learn more about 'Making', also lately I have interest in programming, So I'm excited to learn about it.
The most intriguing topic I want to learn is Fusion. It will help me design joints for various furniture pieces. All of my friends who previously joined the program loved the San3a community, and from my first impression, I felt this too.
