Continuum

she hides behind her past

too shy to make a sound

too stiff to make a move

her future lies below a headstone

with faded locutions

in ancient cursive

once a lonely soul

now forgotten

had chiseled away at her's

and she had never known what hit her

her mined tangled in vines

pinned down with dirt

her anguished amber eyes glistening underneath the stars

she sits by her grave

her back hunched

valor-deprived tears splash on the stone

a thatch of thin lavender hair drapes in front of her long pale round face

she stares at her future

and lingers there for the continuum of time
