FRHS Rob Jackson's Learning Page

Teacher's Message

Hello!

My name is Rob Jackson and I teach a little bit of everything.

I have been teaching for a little over ten years right now! I am also completing my master's in English from CU as well! Both this learning page and also my bio on CU's English page make me one of the top results on Google for "Rob Jackson English," which is an incredibly flattering and humbling accomplishment for me.

I love teaching and trying to figure out new things to excite students. For me, my main goal as a teacher is to have students pursue their own discoveries through writing, reading, listening, and speaking. To discover something through writing after reflection or applying all your energy to reading a difficult poem or some other kind of text is one of the most rewarding things imaginable.

I believe students gain a genuine confidence from accomplishing things they previously thought impossible, so I try to be as a teacher supportive, create an encouraging environment for risks and creativity, and lastly give young people the chance to redo things if needed!

Below are videos that explain a little about each class!

(I also apologize for a mistake in this video! I refer to a part of England as Cromley when I meant Bromley! To clarify, I plan on reaching out to teachers in Hackney, Lambuth, Brixton, Croydon, and also Bromley! Sorry for misspeaking there at the end!)
