Coach Bachtel

Coach Bachtel (Coach B) is in his 8th year at Rockmart High School.  He teaches Chemistry, AP Physics and Physical Science.  He is also the boys head cross country coach.

Coach B is a 1997 graduate of Kennesaw State University.  He holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry.  While at KSU, he was a student athlete in the sports of Cross Country and Track and Field.  He is a two time Peachbelt Athletic Conference All-Conference selection and competed in three national championship races.  While at KSU, he worked on an NIH grant studying the CB1 and CB2 cannabinoid receptors.

Coach B previously worked as a Supply teacher at McEachern High School in Cobb County (Physics and Earth Science) and as a substitute teacher in Cobb and Paulding counties.  He also worked for CryoLife, Inc, a biotechnology company in Kennesaw, GA.

Coach B has been married to his wife Lori for 25 years and they have three children; Aubrey, Maddie and William.  He enjoys running, tennis, golf and watching his kids compete in their respective sports.
