Islamic Heritage Month
October is Islamic Heritage Month.
In 2007, the Government of Canada declared October as Islamic History Month to recognize the role of Muslim communities in Canada.
In 2016, October was also proclaimed Islamic Heritage Month in Ontario.
This month is an opportunity to celebrate, reflect on, and learn about Muslim heritage and contributions to society.
Celebrating Muslim Women in the Arts & Sciences
Each year there is a different theme for Islamic History Month in Canada. In 2023, the theme was Celebrating Muslim Women in the Arts & Sciences.
