Summer Reading Synopsis

The students of the Ringwood Public School district have been fully immersed in Reading Workshop for several years and are well-versed in the engaging practices of our literary curriculum. Ever since we adopted this model, we have been thrilled to see students reading more than ever.  Research tells us that students need to read during the summer months when school is not in session in order to maintain their independent reading ability. Our hope is that our Ryerson Raptors will continue to engage in the art of reading throughout the summer months and be prepared to share the stories in their classroom reading workshops in September.

We appreciate your support in making this work meaningful and productive.  We encourage parents and guardians to assist students in selecting books this summer.  Below you will find diverse books organized by topics of interest that align with Ryerson's curriculum and will be sure to support your student's learning throughout the summer months.  As every student's experiences, reading levels, and preferences are unique, please note that these books are curated for grades six, seven, and eight. Be sure to review the summaries and choose the books that are right for your reader.
